Are you looking to add some plants to your home?
Snake plant is one of the most easy to maintain plants. It’s extremely popular with people who love to have some green around the house, but can’t find the time to keep up with the maintenance.
These plants do well in low-light, making them the perfect indoor plant.
But, is the plant safe when you have a pet cat at home? I’ll help you figure that out in this blog post.
Toxic or Safe? Snake Plants and Cats
Snake plants are more toxic to dogs than they are to cats. These plants are poisonous when ingested.
- If your pet eats large enough doses of the plant, nausea and vomiting may occur.
- The toxin present in the snake plant has a numbing effect and can cause swelling of the throat and tongue.
- Diarrhoea can also be a symptom.
So, it’s best to skip getting a snake plant and choose something safer instead.
