Coronavirus is a serious health threat that has already started affecting the global economy. The death toll has been increasing every day, and millions are at risk.

However, did you know that there exists something known as Feline Coronavirus?

A common viral infection in cats, feline coronavirus (FCoV) is an asymptomatic infection. Mild diarrhea is the only symptom caused by it. If a cat is infected with FCoV, it eliminates it after the infection. However, some cats may develop a persistent infection.

How Do Cats Get FCoV?

Cats get infected by Coronavirus by swallowing it through contact with other cats. In fact, 40% or more of cats will be infected with the virus at some time in their lives and most owners will be unaware of it!

Can Humans Get Coronavirus from cats?

According to the World Health Organization, there is no evidence that suggests that household pets–such as dogs and cats–get infected with the new Coronavirus. So, no, your feline friend will not give you the disease.
