Freddie Mercury was an icon in the 80s who left the world too soon.

However, most people don’t know that the Queen singer adored cats! The movie Bohemian Rhapsody that came out last year featured some adorable ‘Cat Dad’ moments that got people thinking.

Freddie was extremely devoted to his kitties and actually talked to them.

Relatable, right?

In this blog post, we’ll talk more about Freddie Mercury’s cats. So, without further ado, let’s get started.

Mr. Bad Guy Dedications

In 1985, Freddie Mercury released his solo album. Fans found something interesting in the liner notes:

“This album is dedicated to my cat Jerry—also Tom, Oscar, and Tiffany and all the cat lovers across the universe—screw everybody else!”

Awesome, right?

The Ultimate Cat Dad

In the early 70s, Mercury’s then-girlfriend (and later wife) bought him a couple of cats named Tom and Jerry. While the couple broke up, they remained on friendly terms and Austin often used to cat sit for Mercury when he was out of town.

Austin also gifted Mercury another longhaired bluepoint cat named Tiffany.

But, three cats weren’t enough for Freddie! As time passed, Freddie’s cat family grew bigger and bigger.

Mercury loved all of his cats, but, Delilah was one that stole his heart.

The song ‘Delilah’ from the album Innuendo seems like a love song when you first hear it but, it’s dedicated to Mercury’s special little kitty!

Now, not all of us can do that for our kitties, right?
