Did you read Alice in the Wonderland when you were a kid? 

Lewis Carroll popularised the Cheshire Cat (which is a fictional animal) in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. The Tabby British Shorthair cat is known for its distinctive grin and has also featured in several Disney movies.
